THE ART OF REBIRTH
THE JOURNEY BACK HOME

From crisis to rebirth: art as a tool for transformation toward well-being and personal power.

Born in Igualada, Sílvia Guillén comes from the world of branding, communication, and design. At 23, she moved to the Basque Country, where she lived until, in the midst of a midlife crisis, she began a deep awakening of consciousness that led her back home—both literally and symbolically. In a farewell image shared in 2017, she accompanied the moment with the poem "Ithaca" by Konstantino Kavafis, intuitively sensing the transformative journey ahead —and this poem brings closure to the cycle of exploration, together with the video shown at the exhibitions, featuring the artistic photographs that narrate this journey.

From that moment, she embarked on a personal exploration through art, feeling, and connection with matter—spaces that gradually became places for visibility, reflection, and growth. This inner journey enhanced her aesthetic and perceptive sensitivity, allowing her to craft new narratives with depth and strategic vision in the fields of art, people, society, and brands.

Artistic expression, clay, and nature become tools for personal development and self-knowledge, connecting body, art, and life. Her work addresses themes such as identity, connection, self-esteem, personal power, and balance—reclaiming ancestral elements through a contemporary and transformative lens.

The work presented under the title “The Art of Rebirth. The Journey Back Home” unfolds in three stages, three pillars that symbolize the journey of rebirth and the return to essence—through introspection, integration, and personal growth:

ORIGIN
UNIQUE
BALANCE

ORIGIN

An exploration of our roots and the source of our essence.
ORIGIN, the series formed by Uterus and Fertility Vases, invites us to remember who we are, where we come from, and to take up our place—here and now—in both society and our most intimate surroundings.

We are what is inherited, what is learned, and what is chosen.
To whom do you give your power?

UNIQUE

UNIQUE is the second series and stage of the journey.
An ode to self-love and a celebration of what is unique and authentic in each person, through the pieces Women’s Bodies and Venus.

BALANCE

BALANCE, with the Marriage pieces, is the third and final stage of this journey back home.
It is presented as a series of jewels born of individual maturity, allowing each person to shine and draw out the best in themselves.

Complementing the narrative with the philosophies of Wabi-Sabi and Kintsugi—which celebrate the beauty of imperfection and life’s fractures that, rather than being hidden, add value and authenticity—this series also draws inspiration from Taoist philosophies, which promote the integration of masculine and feminine polarities.

The pieces represent parts of the body associated with masculine or feminine energy, regardless of gender identity.
When balance and serenity are achieved between light and shadow, between the inner feminine and masculine, this “internal marriage” inspires us to lead and shine from our essence—feeling at home, back home, grateful for the treasures offered by the journey to Ithaca. Now, finally, we understand what the Ithacas mean.

The materials used reinforce the symbolism of this new stage: porcelain, gold, and pearlescent finishes. Each piece becomes unique, profound, and full of meaning.
